Chinese consortium wins the ONEE bid

  • The work involves monitoring and operation of 126 wind turbines and the electrical network at the Dhar Saadane wind farm to optimize its operations and the conditions of the turbines.

A consortium of Chinese companies such as CRRC Dalian Co. Ltd, CACS Engineering Corporation, and Zhongtian Huineng company has won the National Office of Electricity and Drinking water, Morocco (ONEE) bid to operate and maintain the wind farms every year.

The $5.17 million bid was launched in January 2022.  Several international players such as the German renewable energy and engineering company Siemens Gamesa, Spanish Coverwind Solutions, and Tangier-based Les Grands Ateliers de Maintenance also participated in the bid.

The work involves monitoring and operation of 126 wind turbines and the electrical network at the Dhar Saadane wind farm to optimize its operations and the conditions of the turbines. Chinese companies will also train ONEE staff for periodic on-site training on maintenance and repair of the equipment and operating practices.
