Casablanca launched the Casablanca Tech Valley initiative, a transformative development project aimed at positioning the city as a premier technological and innovation hub in Africa. This ambitious endeavour was formally set in motion on April 30, with the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between the Commune of Casablanca and the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion (CDG) group.
The agreement, signed by Nabila Rmili, President of Casablanca’s Communal Council, and Khalid Safir, Director General of CDG, took place during a ceremony attended by various local and regional dignitaries. The project will be spearheaded by Ewane, a subsidiary of the CDG group, and is conceived as a key extension of the Casanearshore zone—an existing technology park in Casablanca.
The Casablanca Tech Valley is expected to generate over 20,000 direct employment opportunities, significantly contributing to the economic vitality of Morocco’s commercial capital. Beyond job creation, the initiative is designed to catalyse economic activity across multiple districts and further enhance Casablanca’s position in the global digital economy.

Strategically located in Sidi Othmane, the project also aims to drive urban revitalisation, focusing on integrating less developed areas into the city’s broader modernisation efforts. By doing so, it supports principles of social inclusion, sustainable growth, and urban balance, all while aligning with contemporary urban planning practices. Overall, the project underlines Morocco’s commitment to digital transformation and integration into global value chains, reinforcing Casablanca’s image as a dynamic, future-ready metropolis.
