  • As per a recent deal, the Canadian Precious metals mining company Aya Gold & Silver will supply green energy to Morocco’s state-held utility company’s mining operations  in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains

 As per a recent deal, the Canadian Precious metals mining company Aya Gold & Silver will supply green energy to Morocco’s state-held utility company’s mining operations in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains. Aya Gold’s Moroccan subsidiary Zgounder Millennium Mining S.A., and ONEE will build energy stations and a 90-kilometer power line to ensure long-term power supply for the company’s mining operations. The power line is expected to  bring the Aya Moroccan subsidiary closer to  net-zero emissions by 2024.

A company statement indicated that mining operations will be completely powered with green energy. The company plans to cut down its carbon footprint by 85% by entering into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with independent power producers.
