The inaugural Hemp Business Summit is scheduled for April 5 in Botana’s capital Gaborone. The Summit aims to explore the USD 400 billion industrial hemp industry and its value chain, attracting local stakeholders interested in the market.
The summit, set to accommodate around 300 delegates, will feature key players from the United States, representatives, and policymakers from government and farmers’ associations with the theme” Unlocking the Hemp Industry in Botswana” and provide a platform for discussing necessary policy reforms for its sustainable development.

Successful farmers from other countries were expected to share their experiences and guide local hemp growers through the comprehensive process of establishing themselves in the industry. The organization of the summit also indicates Botswana’s effort to up hemp production, where it has lagged behind in recent years.
