Bernardo Aparício has assumed the office of managing director of Standard Bank Mozambique. He was selected by a collegium that included the Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors, Tomaz Salomão. He will take the reins of the bank at a crucial time, when there are several expansion plans are being contemplated.
Bernardo Aparicio has 20 years of experience in banking. For, eight years, he worked in Mozambique, He joins Standard Bank after having worked at the Absa and Barclays Groups.

In both the banks, during his association, he held leadership roles at local and regional levels and was based in Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Mozambique. He worked mostly in the project finance area, with a focus on the European and American markets. Aparicio replaced William le Roux, who demitted office on 31 March.
