The National Council of the Order of Architects Morocco convened its annual General Assembly in Casablanca, drawing a significant turnout of more than 500 architects from all corners of Morocco. The event was attended by the presidents and elected representatives of all thirteen Regional Councils of the Order, marking a vital moment for collective reflection and strategic dialogue within the profession.
In a statement released by the Council, it was noted that the assembly served as a platform for presenting the moral and financial report for the past year, the first of the current council’s mandate. The report highlighted key activities and accomplishments, offering a transparent overview of the Council’s work and outlining the direction for the years ahead.
The gathering also provided space for dynamic and constructive discussions on the profession’s most pressing challenges. Central topics included the accessibility of public and private sector architectural projects — a recurrent concern among practitioners. Participants proposed a range of ideas and actionable solutions aimed at improving access, enhancing professional opportunities, and addressing systemic barriers in the industry.
In a strong message of advocacy, the National Council reiterated its unwavering commitment to upholding the interests of Moroccan architects. It emphasised its approach of engaging with authorities through tangible proposals and ongoing dialogue. The Council also underscored the importance of its collaborative ties with key government bodies, especially the Ministry of National Planning, Urbanism, Housing and City Policy, and the General Secretariat of the Government. These institutional partnerships are instrumental in driving forward strategic reforms and securing long-term benefits for the profession.
