An agreement between the Canal Company for Ropes and the Norwegian company of STERNER for aquaculture was signed with the objective of implementing an integrated project for fish farming with RAS technology. The project aims at a total production rate of 25,000 tons of fish annually. The two parties signed the project recently in the presence of President of Suez Canal Authority Ossama Rabie.

A new company will be established with the partnership between both sides to implement all the commercial business in the field of aquaculture. It envisages recirculating the aquaculture system (RAS) via multi-phase projects.  The project has set a target for production of 25,000 tons of fish annually.

The outline of the project includes establishing a station to treat water, a factory to equip and pack fish, a factory for recycling the wastes to produce organic feed for fish in addition to establishing a vocational academy for training.
