President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with the CEO of Apache Corporation, John Christmann, to review and monitor Apache’s activities in Egypt. This included discussions on the company’s plans to expand its business in Egypt, building upon the successful cooperation between Egypt and Apache in the areas of exploration, oil and gas production, and utilizing Egypt’s energy resources, according to a statement by Spokesman for the Presidency, Ahmed Fahmy.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Apache Corporation, as well as Karim Badawi, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. President El-Sisi commended Apache for its accomplishments in Egypt over the past three decades. He emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing investments in the energy sectors to meet Egypt’s growing energy demands.
The CEO of Apache expressed gratitude for the strong partnership with Egypt. Christmann affirmed the company’s desire to increase production rates in the future, capitalizing on the ample opportunities for discoveries. He also highlighted Apache’s dedication to adopting cutting-edge technologies to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions from production operations. The meeting also addressed ways to strengthen economic cooperation between Egypt and the United States.
