Life in the Goma region is slowly returning to normalcy as reports indicate. Some shops, stores, and marketplaces have started operating though there is still panic among the residents that the situation can change for the worse.
Traffic is gradually picking up, with taxis and private vehicles back on the streets, though the atmosphere remains tense. Reports indicate that economic activities are slowly picking up in the region. Signs of looting following the M23 takeover are still visible. Shops and large stores have been emptied, leaving behind desperate merchants.
