Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Head of the General Authority of Free Zones and Investment (GAFI) and Omar El Sahy, the General Manager of Souq.com, an affiliate of the E-commerce giant Amazon, discussed Amazon’s The highlight of the discussion was p Amazon’s proposal to develop transport services, by using private cars to transfer light cargo.
GAFI would provide the necessary support for the company to expand its trade activities in the country by using digital platforms. The GAFI will provide the spaces required to establish new warehouses and distribution centers for the company in all governorates. This will help export of Egyptian products by using E-commerce platforms
The meeting also reviewed Amazon’s investments in Egypt. It has more than 10 distribution centers nationwide and hires around 1,000 employees.
