Alibaba Group signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology to provide training to entrepreneurs in the technology field in Ethiopia. As a part of the MOU, the Digital Transformation Association will evaluate the result of the training after recruiting the trainees

Alibaba Group signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology to provide training to entrepreneurs in the technology field in Ethiopia. As a part of the MOU, the Digital Transformation Association will evaluate the result of the training after recruiting the trainees.

Huria Ali, State Minister of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, said that citizens who have digital skills are vital for transforming the East African country into a digital hub as envisioned in Ethiopia’s Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy. The training will enable Ethiopians to acquire knowledge that will make them competitive in various areas. It is also expected to help entrepreneurs modernize their organizations and enhance their capacity.

Alibaba will be the lead in providing training to decision-making bodies, entrepreneurs, technology company owners, employees, and students. The first-round training will target entrepreneurs.
