Algeria Calls for Strategic Investment Alliance with EU at Euro-Algerian Forum

Speaking in Algiers on Wednesday at the closing ceremony of the European initiative “Euro-Algerian Partnership for Sustainable Investment,” Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), stressed that establishing a strategic investment alliance between Algeria and the European Union has become a necessity rather than a choice.

Speaking in Algiers on Wednesday at the closing ceremony of the European initiative “Euro-Algerian Partnership for Sustainable Investment,” Omar Rekkache, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), stressed that establishing a strategic investment alliance between Algeria and the European Union has become a necessity rather than a choice.

Amid shifting global economic dynamics, Algeria is actively deepening its collaboration with the EU, with a strong focus on sustainable development, economic integration, and productive investment. Rekkache highlighted the progress made so far, including seminars, a strategic study on high-potential value chains for nearshoring, and exploratory visits to various European capitals. He stressed the importance of transitioning from assessment to action by launching tangible investment projects that create value and employment.

Kamel Moula, Chairman of CREA, echoed the call for a balanced partnership and emphasised the significant opportunities for collaboration. He reaffirmed his commitment to assisting European companies interested in investing in Algeria, especially in projects aimed at joint production and exports.
