Algeria and Italy Hold Roundtable to Promote Investment & Entrepreneurship

The Italian Council of Ministers Vice President, Antonio Tajani, stressed the need to strengthen the Algerian-Italian partnership by diversifying investments in key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and construction. He also expressed Italy’s interest in developing Algeria’s fishing sector, thanks to Italian expertise in boat building.

Algerian and Italian officials discussed investment opportunities between the two countries at an Algerian-Italian round table on entrepreneurship. Participants included the Minister of Energy, Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of Agriculture, Youcef Cherfa, the Minister of Industry, Sifi Ghrieb, and economic and business representatives from both nations.

The Italian Council of Ministers Vice President, Antonio Tajani, stressed the need to strengthen the Algerian-Italian partnership by diversifying investments in key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, infrastructure and construction. He also expressed Italy’s interest in developing Algeria’s fishing sector, thanks to Italian expertise in boat building.

Concerning tourism, Mr. Tajani highlighted Algeria’s cultural and geographical wealth, which is an asset that attracts Italian investors. He also spoke of Algeria’s strategic importance in Africa and proposed organising an entrepreneurship forum in Rome to strengthen exchanges between investors from both countries.

On the cultural front, he announced an increase in the number of scholarships awarded to Algerian students, to create lasting links between the two nations’ economic players.
