The bandwidth service is set to meet the growing demands for wholesale data in the continent as it offers submarine cable solutions and comprehensive terrestrial fibre by leveraging ground fibre assets and submarine cable systems.
There is no doubt that Africa is experiencing a digital revolution with a surging demand for data across various sectors, especially by the continent’s growing youth population. Africa’s need for cutting-edge fibre-optic solutions is pertinent to empower businesses, education, healthcare, and communities, stated Chief Executive Officer for Airtel Africa Group, Segum Ogunsanya .
There is no doubt that Africa is experiencing a digital revolution with surging demand for data across various sectors, especially by the continent’s growing youth population.
Airtel’s investment in Telesonic Limited signifies not only a technological advancement but also a catalyst for progress, connecting people and ideas across borders.
Telesonic will start offering products such as national and international leased lines, dedicated internet access, IP and IP transit services as well as multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) services through its network of over 75,000 kilometres of terrestrial fibre across Airtel Africa’s 14 markets. Furthermore, plans are underway to establish local entities in key markets where Airtel Africa operates to oversee all fibre assets and manage the operational aspects of the wholesale business.
