Air Mauritius reported a net profit of Rs 252.7 million (€4.9 million) for the first quarter of 2025/2026 (April–June 2025), marking its best Q1 performance in nine years. The Board of Directors approved the results at its meeting, despite multiple operational challenges including the prolonged grounding of an A330-900 neo aircraft, 24 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) incidents, high maintenance costs, and intensified route competition.

Passenger revenue rose from Rs 5.6 billion (€112.4 million) to Rs 6 billion (€115.4 million), while passenger numbers grew slightly to 403,127—a 0.8% increase over the same period in 2024. The overall load factor improved by 4.7 points. Fuel prices remained steady at approximately USD 66.76, and the euro gained strength against other currencies.

At a press conference on August 15, Chairman Kishore Beegoo described the company’s Rs 864 million turnaround over six months as “extraordinary.” Since the new board’s appointment in January 2025, strategic actions have been taken to stabilize the airline, with expectations of achieving profitability beyond the initial break-even goal.

Beegoo also announced plans to invite expressions of interest from potential strategic partners to support the company’s long-term future. Additionally, a review is underway to assess whether all previously ordered aircraft align with current and projected route needs.
