The Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) 2022, an annual event, opened recently (last Wednesday) at Air Force Base Waterkloof in Pretoria, South Africa, after being in abeyance due to the Covid-19 pandemic for a few years. The forum is an opportunity for companies from across the world, such as the US, Belgium, and China to work together. South African Minister of Defence Thandi Modise highlighted the importance of the event for the country.
Modise said that the event will help in creating jobs and will help give a leg up to the defence industry in the country. The South African National Defence Force will put on a “mini war” display, while the South African Police Service will also do a demo hijacking/hostage rescue display.
