The African Development Bank (AfDB) appointed Mr. Simon MIZRAHI as Acting Director, Communication and External Relations Department (PCER).
A British national, Simon joined the Bank in 2009, as Head of Results Management Division. Earlier, he worked with prestigious
organizations like the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD as Senior Policy Adviser and prior to that handled other important portfolios in the organization. Simon authored the Paris Declaration on Aid Effectiveness and the Accra Agenda for Action—two landmark agreements adopted by 110 countries and organizations across the world. Having more than twenty-five years’ experience in delivering strategic leadership on development policies, Simon excels in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and in executing complex operations in challenging settings. Development impact, climate change and development effectiveness are core areas of his expertise.
Simon is currently the Director for Delivery, Performance Management and Results. He oversees the delivery of results on the Bank’s US$10 billion annual investments across the African continent and engages with the Bank’s Board of Directors and donors. Having cross-country educational background, Simon holds a Master of Philosophy degree in Political Sciences and International Relations, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom and a Masters in Politics, Philosophy and Economy (PPE), Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences-Po), France
