Aissa Touré has been appointed by African Development Bank (AfDB) as the Country Manager for Rwanda. A Senegalese national, Aissa Touré, brings to the Bank over 25 years of cross continent experience having worked in 12 countries for five international organizations. She is an economist by profession and has considerable insights in development economics. .
As a development economist Aissa’s work profile covers rural development, particularly agriculture, rural economics and climate
adaptation and mitigation, among others.Immediately before her recent appointment by the Bank, Aissa was Country Director International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) Burundi, a position she has held since July 2018. Aissa has also worked in various reputed organizations including Water Aid, Oxfam, and Sahara and Sahel Observatory – OSS. d.
Aissa is an alumni of University of Montpellier I, France and holds a Master’s in in Rural Sector, Enterprise Development and Food Processing Project Management a Master’s in Economics and Project Financing Engineering), a BSc. in Economics and Project Financing Engineering), and a Bachelor’s Degree in Rural Economy.
