AfDB appoints head of Moroccan operations

·        The African Development Bank (AfDB)  has appointed Achraf Tarsim, a Tunisian as the  country manager for Morocco at the bank’s regional office in Rabat. Morocco is one the key partners of AfDB

·        Tarsim has been associated with AfDB since 2009. He held several positions in the Bank including divisional  manager for North Africa, looking after energy, infrastructure and financial sector

·        He supervised over 20 initiatives of the Bank  which entailed a total exposure of US$ 2.2 billion

·        Those were projects  implemented in countries like Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Mauritania

Tarsim has been associated with AfDB since 2009. He held several positions in the Bank including divisional  manager for North Africa, looking after the energy, infrastructure and financial sector. He supervised over 20 initiatives of the Bank  which entailed a total exposure of US$ 2.2 billion. Those were projects  implemented in countries like Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Mauritania.

Some of the important projects supervised by Tarsim in  Morocco included  industrialization, extension of Rabat airport and energy related projects,  such as extension of transmission lines, capacity building etc.

AfDB’s main operations in Morocco include energy (31.5%), transportation (19.5), water and sanitation (15.5%) and social development projects (12.7%)
