·        Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated the grand Meskel Square-Addis Ababa City Hall project.  This is part of the Beautifying Sheger initiative and the project entails a cost of 2.6 billion birr

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed inaugurated the grand Meskel Square-Addis Ababa City Hall project.  This is part of the Beautifying Sheger i project  and  it entails a cost of 2.6 billion birr. The prime minister was accompanied by Addis Ababa city Deputy Mayor Adanech Abiebie and other senior government officials

Meskel Square  is the main part of Addis Ababa City Hall Project. The project is aimed at  renovating  the most iconic public gathering space in Ethiopia’s modern history. It is the venue of various cultural, religious, political, entertainment, and sports activities for over sixty years. The project also involves

beautification of Churchill Avenue, the 3.5 km road extending from Meskel Square to the Addis Ababa City Hall is also going on . Works involved include upkeep of roadside greenery works, sidewalk developments, and others. The prime minister sought the help of everyone in realizing a better Ethiopia and to become  an iconic symbol of  decolonization of Africa and to ensure continental prosperity.
