The General Libyan Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture (GLUCC) is gearing up for the first Libyan-Turkish
Economic Forum which will take place between 15th-16th October this year, in Istanbul.
The forum will be held in cooperation with the International Company for Organizing Exhibitions and Conferences. Several prominent businessmen and major retailers from both countries are expected to take part in the two-day forum.
The GLUCC hopes the forum will mark a new beginning in terms of openness, cooperation, and partnership, between businessmen and entrepreneurs in both countries.
The Government of National Accord (GNA) signed last August a
memorandum of understanding with Turkey, which has several investment projects in Libya.
Turkish firms operate 184 projects, which were contracted between 2008 and 2012. This represents 20% of the total existing development projects in the country.
