Egypt has spent LE 500 in 3 payments, totaling LE 1,500 targeted to help irregular workers whose incomes were affected due to the pandemic. The rationale of this initiative, the minister explained, was to give protection to irregular workers during the difficult times.

In March, the manpower ministry opened a window for irregular workers to register on its website to receive the monthly grant. The assertion of Egypt is that it was one of the countries least affected by the economic impact of the pandemic thanks to the timely welfare measures initiated by the government.
