The European Union has recently published a list of countries whose citizens and residents can travel to Schengen in view of the Pandemic. The latest list has excluded passengers from Algeria amid a growing number of coronavirus cases in the country. US, Serbia and Montenegro were scrapped off the list earlier in July.
Every fortnightly EU undertakes a review of the list which initially included 15 countries. The latest list has maintained Australia, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Tunisia, and Uruguay.
The Algerian foreign ministry in a statement rapped the EU arguing that the authorities have already maintained the borders of the country closed until further notice as part of efforts to protect them from foreign contaminations. The ministry added that Algeria has deployed significant precautions to curb the spread of COVID 19 compared with other countries in worse situations and contaminations.
