Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch held a high-level meeting with François Provost, Executive Director of the Renault Group, accompanied by Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade. The discussions centered on enhancing Renault’s industrial ecosystem in Morocco, which remains a cornerstone of the Kingdom’s broader industrial development strategy under the visionary leadership of King Mohammed VI.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Akhannouch reiterated Morocco’s strong commitment to deepening strategic partnerships with world-leading manufacturers. He emphasized the country’s ambition to integrate cutting-edge technologies, boost industrial competitiveness, and showcase Moroccan expertise in advanced manufacturing.

As a result of the talks, an amended investment agreement between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Renault Group was officially signed by Minister Ryad Mezzour and Executive Director François Provost. This updated agreement aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation, promote sustainable industrial practices, and create approximately 7,500 direct and indirect jobs within Morocco’s growing automotive sector.

This new phase marks a significant step forward for Renault’s operations in Morocco. The group plans to renew its flagship vehicle models and, over the medium term, introduce a new line of electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030. To support these ambitions, Renault will invest in modernizing production facilities, enhancing workforce training, and expanding its technological capabilities, reaffirming the company’s long-term confidence in Morocco’s robust industrial platform.

The 2025–2030 development roadmap also includes the creation of a state-of-the-art engineering and research & development (R&D) center by the end of 2025. This facility will play a key role in developing hybrid and electric vehicle technologies, consolidating Morocco’s reputation as an emerging leader in sustainable mobility.
