Cassava Technologies is teaming up with Microsoft to launch a community engagement initiative aimed at creating training hubs in South Africa for local youth, which will enhance job opportunities in the renewable energy sector. The initiative focuses on developing skills in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and community microgrids, empowering the younger generation to lead the shift toward clean energy. Activities will be centered in Johannesburg and Cape Town, where both companies operate.

The training hubs will be essential in equipping women and youth across Africa with the necessary skills to succeed in the renewable energy industry, ensuring that the benefits of the energy transition are accessible to everyone. Cassava Technologies will play a crucial role in this collaboration, facilitating clean energy jobs and projects for the communities involved.

This initiative allows both Cassava and Microsoft to promote community engagement and sustainable development throughout the continent. “We are excited to partner with Microsoft on this project, which aims to ensure that all Africans benefit from our transition to a digitally connected future powered by sustainable energy,” said Finhai Munzara, chief corporate development officer of Cassava Technologies. “By combining our technological expertise and local experience with Microsoft’s global presence, we are ready to create a meaningful, positive impact in South African communities.”
