Following the demonstrations, South African investors in Mozambique reported significant losses, including the vandalism of their establishments and the retention of goods at the port of Maputo.

The Government of Mozambique, represented by the Ministries of Industry and Commerce, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Transport and Communication, recently met with representatives of South African-owned companies operating in the country.

The meeting aimed to assess the impact on economic activities of the current situation in the country, marked by a wave of vandalism of industrial and commercial enterprises. On the occasion, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Silvino Moreno, highlighted that a security corridor had been created to prevent the vandalism of commercial establishments in coordination with the Defence and Security Forces.

Following the demonstrations, South African investors in Mozambique reported significant losses, including the vandalism of their establishments and the retention of goods at the port of Maputo. They therefore created a group to manage and mitigate risks resulting from the post-election demonstrations, which monitors operations daily.
