In the Covid-19 days, production profiles of business units are going
for a toss.  In South Africa’s Alexandra Township, a sewing shop is
now producing reusable face masks instead of stitching traditional
garments. This has augmented the supply of scarce face masks, an
important healthcare product to fight against Covid-19.

One important lesson that has ingrained into  the public psyche is
that the pandemic should be fought collectively and not individually
or by a group of persons.   Everyone reiterates the importance of
wearing the face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, those who
can help in their own way for containing the pandemic are doing more
creatively and with a sense of concern for the fellow being.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa extended a 21-day lockdown to
April end. As of Friday April 10, the number of confirmed COVID-19
cases in the country rose to 2,003.
