Ghana absorbs electricity bill of the poorer sections of people

·        As a humane gesture, the Ghana government has decided to
absorb the electricity bills of the very poor people.

·        The president also assured uninterrupted distribution of food
items to the poor and at the same time he tasked citizens to continue
observing all preventive measures and protocols.

As a humane gesture, the Ghana government has decided to absorb the
electricity bills of the very poor people. For other consumers, the
government will be waiving off 50% of the bill. This waive off is
given for three months.

This was announced by  Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo. He also told the
nation that lockdowns in the capital Accra and the mineral-rich
Ashanti region will be rolled over for one more week, while exhorting
citizens to exercise discipline in their use of water and electricity.
