Tanzania and the European Union (EU) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic relations, with a renewed emphasis on trade and investment as key drivers of sustainable development. This agreement was formalized during the Tanzania-EU Partnership Dialogue held in Dar es Salaam earlier this week. The event featured the exchange of documents by Tanzania’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Cosato Chumi, and Rita Laranjinha, Managing Director for Africa at the EU’s European External Action Service, outlining the partnership’s resolutions.
The partnership aims to enhance economic collaboration and create mutual benefits, in line with global sustainable development goals. Trade facilitation, investment frameworks, and capacity-building efforts were identified as key priorities during the dialogue. Laranjinha stressed the EU’s long-term commitment to supporting Tanzania’s economic growth, particularly through investment in infrastructure and technology. Chumi highlighted the importance of joint efforts to unlock Tanzania’s trade potential in European markets.
