Non-Oil Exports Crucial for Nigeria’s Growth, Says Minister

Nigeria needs more non-oil exports as they are crucial for the economy, says Jumoke Oduwole, the minister of industry, trade and investment. She made this statement at a recent stakeholders’ reception organised by Segilola Resources Operating Limited (SROL), Nigeria’s pioneering gold exploration and production company.

The event, which brought prominent dignitaries, partners, and stakeholders together, followed SROL’s participation at the just concluded Nigeria Mining Week. The minister lauded the company for its resilience and significant contributions to Nigeria’s economic diversification. Non-oil exports are crucial for this economy. It’s a priority of President Tinubu; and also, it’s a priority of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment.

The Nigerian economy requires productivity and competitiveness, and it is crucial for the government to assist and motivate businesses. Oduwole also acknowledged SROL as the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) export champion.
