The American association expressed interest in inviting a delegation of Egyptian construction companies to participate in upcoming international exhibitions dedicated to this field, the first of which is scheduled for May 2025, to explore potential areas of collaboration between the two sides.
American investments in Egypt currently amount to about USD 8 billion, according to a statement by the Head of Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), Yahya El-Wathiq Billah. He was talking to the media on the sidelines of his visit to Washington, to hold the sixth session of the negotiations for the framework agreement for trade and investment between the two countries.
During the meetings, he pointed to the economic reforms undertaken by Egypt during the past period, whether concerning fiscal or monetary policy, as well as the efforts being made to reform the tax system. Egypt seeks to boost the private sector participation rate in the gross domestic product by about 70% by 2030, El-Wathiq Billah said.
El-Wathiq Billah discussed with the American Association of Equipment Manufacturers the investment opportunities available in Egypt for manufacturing and industrial development.
