Rwanda continues its preparations for hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) as planned despite the ongoing Corona outbreak on the hope that it will be contained by June this year. Rwanda will be hosting about 7000 guests including about 40 heads of states for CHOGM. A number of side events including; Commonwealth Youth Forum, Commonwealth People’s Forum, Commonwealth Women’s Forum and Commonwealth Business Forum will also happen on the side-lines.
The Meeting is expected to give a big boost to several sectors churning revenue.
. The sectors that are likely to benefit are surface transport fort delegates, men and material, aviation services, retail, tourism services, hospitality, tech and innovation, etc. Financial services and broadband services will also be in high demand.
It is hoped that the event will showcase Rwandan capabilities to the global market. Efforts are on to ensure the highest global standards to meet quality requirements in all sectors. High revenue generation is expected from technology and innovation which will play a central role during the summit in areas such as in payment services, information provision, coordination, logistics among others.
