It is alleged that some people plotted to trigger a coup in Benin. Reports indicate that banknotes stuffed in suitcases totaling CFA 1.5 billion were found, which were supposed to fund the coup attempt. The special prosecutor claimed this and has led to the arrest of prominent personalities close to the regime, including former Sports minister Oswald Homéky and the commander of Benin’s presidential guard.
