Jack Dorsey, Twitter chief executive, it is reported that   rethinking
plans to spend six months in Africa, partly due to concerns over the
new-coronavirus epidemic.

The report has come at a time when Dorsey is facing a challenge from
an activist investor, who is seeking his ouster both from Twitter and
digital payment firm Square, where Dorsey is  doubling as a chief
executive. .

The intention to visit several countries in Africa was made clear in
last November. He unveiled his plan through a tweet wherein he
mentioned that he would be living in different countries in Africa for
three to six months in the mid of 2020. The recent tweet, a few couple
of days back suggest that the plan was in  a flux and sighted COVID-19
as the reason for reevaluating his travel plans. However, he made it
clear that his Africa-focus program would continue irrespective of his
plan to visit that country or not.

Virus including  Cameroon, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and
Tunisia, as well as Senegal and Nigeria.

The other story that floating is challenges to Dorsey’s leadership.
Elliott Management, founded by billionaire Paul Singer, a major
Republican political supporter, has acquired a stake in  Twitter and
wants to remove Dorsey. The firm  says that Dorsey’s attention is
divided between running Twitter and his financial transactions startup
Square. Paul Singer also pointed out that Dorsey’s decision to spend
long period in Africa every year would come in the way of successful
running of the Twitter, Against this, Dorsey’s take is that by staying
in Africa for a long period, does not mean that he is taking a
Sabbatical. He only  wanted to show how one can work despite living in
different time zones and asserted that he could manage two firms by
becoming flexible and above all, balancing his time.
