MozParks announced the signing of a significant contract with Sociedade Moçambicana de Medicamentos (SMM) for setting up a pharmaceutical facility in Beluluane Industrial Park (BIP). It is a step forward in Mozambique’s industrial and healthcare sectors.
This agreement will facilitate the construction of a state-of-the-art facility where SMM will produce vital medicines, contributing to the nation’s healthcare needs and economic growth.
The contract was officially signed at the 59th edition of FACIM 2024, the largest international trade show in Mozambique, at a panel discussion focused on industry and technology as key drivers of the country’s development. The signing ceremony was attended by high-level representatives of the Government, public and private sectors, with Adrian Frey, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MozParks, and Gustavo Martins da Cruz, Chief Executive Officer of SMM, formalizing the partnership.

The facility will include a production unit for pharmaceuticals, specifically focusing on the manufacturing of medications and medical consumables, and will be built over five years.
