· Turkey-Africa Business Council chairmen will meet in Erciyes
Ski Center, located in the central province of Kayseri. The Council is
a part of Turkey’s Foreign Economic Relations Board and is the
umbrella organization that promotes two-way trade, investment and
technical cooperation with African region.
· Nearly 40 chairmen and 17 ambassadors from African countries
will participate at the meeting to be held on Feb. 8-9. The
Council has sub councils each focused on 45 African countries

Significantly, Turkey announced 2020 as the Africa year to give a
critical push to the economic engagement between the two regions.
Turkey is the latest entry to the group of nations scouting for
investments, trade and economic cooperation in Africa. Other
countries, which have considerable exposure in the region, include
China, Russia, France and India in segments such as mining,
infrastructure, manufacturing, food processing, contract agriculture
etc.
