The African Development Bank (AFDB) will launch the 2020 edition of the African Economic Outlook (AEO) at its headquarters in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. The report will be presented by Bank Group of economists and experts. The meeting will be attended by the African ministers, diplomats and representatives of international bodies. “Developing Africa’s workforce for the future” is the theme of this year’s report.
The annual exercise will present economic prospects, challenges and projections for the continent as a bloc and for each of the 54 countries. There will be key forecasts set for short and medium terms for each country. Socio-economic indicators, such as growth, poverty and jobs will figure in the report as also the challenges and progress made.
The report, prepared by Bank’s economists and experts, serves as a tool for policymakers, academics, investors, development and financial industry professionals and the media to inform policy dialogue and enhance planning and operational efficiency.
