The U.S. Department of Agriculture will be sponsoring its 2020 trade mission to North Africa. It is presently recruiting interested U.S. exporters for the mission to take place in Casablanca, Morocco, on March 16-19. The objective of the mission is to boost US agricultural exports to North Africa and will include interested buyers from Morocco, Algeria, Libya, and Tunisia.

The second USDA trade mission to Africa in the last six months, the US delegation will lay considerable importance to foster two-way trade and investment between the United States and Africa. With North Africa’s growing demand for food and feed products, the region can be a good market for US farmers.

The U.S.-Morocco Free Trade Agreement is an important factor in boosting the two-way trade. Also, the North African country is endowed with a high-quality infrastructure and stable economy to help the US companies by acting as a gateway to Africa. Morocco imported US$595 million of U.S. agricultural and related products in 2019.
