Senegal’s parliament approved the postponement of the February 25 election and the extension of the mandate of President Macky Sall which was due to expire on April 2nd. Many feel frustrated by the extension of elections, which also did not go well with the international community. Countries like the US have been urging to hold the elections in time. Macky Sall made it clear earlier that he would not contest for the next elections and named a successor to his party to contest for the presidential election.
