The German government has pledged 4 billion euros (US$4.37 billion) for investments in green energy in Africa until 2030. This was stated by German Chancellor Scholz said Germany. He also said that the German economy should become a long-term and reliable partner to African countries. The group is meeting in Berlin.
The German Chancellor was speaking at “Compact with Africa”, an initiative launched by Germany during its chairmanship of the G20 group in 2017. It aims to improve the economic framework conditions in the participating countries to make them more attractive for foreign private investment.
