Air France resumes flights to Liberia

235

Liberian president George Weah confirmed recently the imminent return of Air France flights to the West African country. The resumption of flights in 2020 after a lapse of five years since it was withdrawn, analysts say, is indicative of the increased travelers  between the two countries.

Air France lights will be biweekly. The airline already notified the Liberian Government about the intent to resume the flight. In 2014, Air France terminated the service to Liberia citing low profitability. Also there were infrastructural issues like poor runway, which inflicted damages to several aircrafts in its fleet.  Outbreak of Ebola was another reason for stopping the services abruptly in 2014. Roberts International Airport (RIA) will be among its new destinations beginning 2020. President Weah has also  requested his Ethiopian counterpart to resume flights from his country.
