Nigerian President Tinubu calls on fellow Africans to work together for the common good

 Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, emphasized the need for Africa to overcome the constraints of foreign exploitation by unlocking its vast potential.

Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, emphasized the need for Africa to overcome the constraints of foreign exploitation by unlocking its vast potential.

In his inaugural speech at the United Nations, Tinubu said that failures in good governance, broken promises, unfair treatment, and outright exploitation from abroad have exerted a heavy toll on our ability to progress for the continent. He underscored the need for African nations to come together to improve their economies so that Africans do not have to do menial jobs outside the country.

The Nigerian President highlighted the importance of international investments while adding that partners should see Africa’s development as a priority since it was key to the future growth of the world economy.

Calling on Africans to look inwards, the Nigerian President lashed at the coups that are disrupting democratic governance. He underlined that democracy was the best guarantor of the will and well-being of the people. He also flagged the impacts of climate change that were affecting Africa more than any other region.
