Libyan gas flow to Italy resumes after a short disruption

Gas flows from Libya to Italy have resumed after an interruption that lasted about two weeks due to a vast restructuring of the Mellitah plants. The plants are   located on the North African coast. Operations restarted at the Mellitah complex on May 16 evening after 16 days of hiatus.

According to the Italian news agency Nova, gas flows relating to the relevant points of the national transport network showed an interruption of gas flows from Libya to Italy from 30 April to 15 May.

On 16 May, around 3 million cubic meters of gas arrived at the arrival point in Gela, confirming the recovery of flows. However, it is far  below the average of around 7-9 million per day before the resumption of the flows.
