Aptiv, the global leader in automobile technology, inaugurated its seventh manufacturing unit in Oujda in Morocco. The construction that was started in January 2022  got completed in March 2023.

The “eco-friendly,” production facility in the Oujda industrial zone is in line with the company’s philosophy of developing safer and greener solutions and will specialize in the assembly of electrical harnesses with minimum consumption of water and electricity.  Aptiv’s commitment is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.

Aptiv established its presence in Morocco in 1999 with the opening of its plant in Tangier. Since then, it has opened six other sites, and also set up a logistics hub, and a development center. The opening of the new plant and the investment is expected to generate wealth as well as jobs for Moroccans.  It is also considered to be a significant step in boosting industrial activities in the region as well as a reflection of the company’s confidence in Morocco as a business partner.
