Turkish Foreign Minister on a five-nation Africa tour

  • Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu started his five-nation African tour to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Gabon, And Sao Tome. His visit started with South Africa on 8th December.
  • Promoting relations and cooperation with African countries is one of the cornerstones of Ankara’s multi-dimensional foreign policy.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu started his five-nation African tour to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Gabon, And Sao Tome. His visit started with South Africa on 8th December. The visit started with the Nurul Hamidiye Mosque, named after Sultan Abdulhamid II, in Cape Town, whose restoration works were undertaken by TIKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency). During the visit, he will also inaugurate the Turkish Consulate in Cape Town. The minister is also expected to hold bilateral talks with his counterparts during the visit, which will end on Jan. 14.

Later he will then visit Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Gabon, and Sao Tome and Principe. During the visit, all aspects of bilateral relations as well as regional issues will be discussed. During the visit, Türkiye’s African Partnership Policy will also be examined.
