More than 50,000 foreign tourists are expected to spend Christmas and New Year in Mozambique, according to Muhammad Abdullah, president of the Tourism department of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique, CTA. In 2022 so far, more than 300,000 tourists visited Mozambique

More than 50,000 foreign tourists are expected to spend Christmas and New Year in Mozambique, according to Muhammad Abdullah, president of the Tourism department of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique, CTA. In 2022 so far, more than 300,000 tourists visited Mozambique.

Muhammad Abdullah urged the roll-out of the electronic visa system for foreign citizens.  The eVISA platform, he said, would reduce the waiting time for issuing visas, despite such challenges as may arise.

He also underscored that It was very important to ensure the technical training of civil servants to respond to the visa demand. Such training must be continuous and gradual to ensure safety and privacy and at the same time speedy processing of visas.
