An award of $5,000 as seed funding to African social innovators was announced by the Sahara Foundation. The innovators who have successfully completed the 2022 Sahara Impact Fund (SIF) Fellowship programme will be eligible for seed funding.
The social entrepreneurs who will benefit from the seed funding include the CEO of OnePad Reusable Pad, Nigeria, Ayilara Oluchi; CEO of Karakunku Farm, the Gambia, Lamin Ceesay; CEO Delfak Nigeria Limited, Aminu Rex; CEO, Bertec, Cameroon, Claude Moghomaye; and so on.About 21 Fellows participated in this year’s programme
These social entrepreneurs had undergone a three-month Fellowship organised by Sahara Foundation. The fellowship was organised jointly with LEAP AFRICA, a leadership development non-profit organisation for youth; and Impact Amplifier, a social enterprise that promotes the investment readiness, growth and capital provision of social enterprises in Africa.
The Fellowship programme is designed to impart African social entrepreneurs with the knowledge and skill sets required to build sustainable businesses, capable of addressing the continent’s challenges. The objective of the Sahara Impact Fund Fellowship programme is to speed up Africa’s growth and promote sustainable environments across the continent.

Speaking about the objectives behind the director, of Sahara Foundation, Pearl Uzokwe said that it aims at empowering creative social entrepreneurs working to move Africa from a continent of potential to actualization.
