Ethio Telecom announced that it had made 4G LTE mobile internet service accessible to 181 towns across Ethiopia. Under its Phase-III 4G LTE Service Network Expansion Strategic Plan, it has made 67 towns beneficiaries of the service while implementing a network expansion project for 27 towns

Ethio Telecom announced that it had made 4G LTE mobile internet service accessible to 181 towns across Ethiopia. Under its Phase-III 4G LTE Service Network Expansion Strategic Plan, it has made 67 towns beneficiaries of the service while implementing a network expansion project for 27 towns.

Some of the towns where a 4G service was launched under the Network Expansion Strategic Plan include Babile, Bati, Gursum, Chinaqsen, Degehabur, Hargele, Bedessa, Deder, Gelemso, Kulubi. Mieso, Akista, Bati, Chefa Robit, Arerti, and Cheha.

The State-owned telecom company plans to expand the 4G service to additional towns which experience high data traffic. According to Ethio Telecom, the high bandwidth and reliable data services of 4G LTE will play critical roles in enabling and empowering its customers to join the digital world, increase productivity, and improve their experience.
