Britain to help Nigeria to achieve climate goals

The United Kingdom is drawing up a massive plan to help Nigeria, as part of its plans to help west African country to face climate change. At the COP27, which is attended by its foreign secretary James Cleverly, the UK unveiled £95 million Propcom+ investment plan, which would benefit at least four million Nigerians, including two million women aimed at increasing their productivity and reducing emissions.

Propcom+ reinforces the UK Government’s investment in agriculture through the Propcom Mai-karfi programme in Nigeria. This new £95 million Propcom+ programme is set to help address key barriers to sustainable agricultural development in Nigeria.

It will support the development of climate-resilient agricultural policies, actions, and investments that will deliver nutrition, increase productivity, adapt, and build resilience while reducing emissions, and protecting and restoring natural ecosystems.
