Turkey to focus more on Libya

Turkey must develop a Libya-focused African initiative as  Libya is the new centre of attraction for global competition, according to Murtaza Karanfil, chairperson of the Foreign Economic Relations Board’s (DEIK) Turkey-Libya Business Council. He is also  the president of the Istanbul-based Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD). . .

Murtaza  added that the growth of Africa in the next 100 years would be phenomenal and Turkey must design and develop foreign trade reforms in a way that appeals to Africa.

Murtaza also called for a new agreement with Libya to be signed in addition to the already existing  Exclusive Economic Zone Agreement signed between Libya and Turkey and the Security and Military Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding. Turkey has a trade volume of  US $28 billion with 54 countries on the African continent. Murtaza also touched upon ensuring stability and security of Libya, which  holds  key  for the security of Africa.
